Why are Dental Crowns Used? 

Natural-looking, tooth-colored dental crowns are used to restore teeth that are damaged or significantly decayed. Dental crowns also can be used for purely aesthetic reasons for example, to change the shape, realign existing teeth, and whiten a tooth. Dental crowns can be made of many materials including porcelain, gold and other metals, and acrylic resin. Porcelain crowns are most common as they typically have the most realistic appearance.
