Benefits of Oral Sedation

With sedation dentistry, you'll feel relaxed and comfortable while we complete any dental work needed, so you'll never have to fear going to the dentist again. You can have the beautiful smile you've always wanted, the good health you've always hoped for, and the ability to have cosmetic dentistry and general dentistry work completed without experiencing any fear or anxiety.

How does oral conscious sedation work?

No needles are involved!

Because Beautiful Smiles uses only oral sedation, you never have to worry about the fear of needles - simply take a mild oral sedative and sit back and relax. Before any dental work begins, you'll be given a mild oral sedative which will help you relax in the dental chair. A trained dental hygienist will be there to assist you by providing a blanket, answering your questions, and monitoring your comfort throughout the entire procedure. Dr. Moore will then administer nitrous oxide to enhance the effects of the sedation.

Oral conscious sedation is not anesthesia.

He can perform hours of dental work while you rest comfortably. You will remain conscious – you don’t actually go to sleep. However, sometimes patients report that they can’t remember a thing about the procedure performed in conjunction with oral conscious sedation. Now that’s relaxation!

You will need a ride home.

You will need a friend or family member to drive you home from the appointment. The rest of the day, plan to relax. When you wake the next morning, the sedative will have subsided, and you'll enjoy the benefits of a stronger, healthier, more beautiful smile.
